PD4: eight

We were told, design an outfit based on a famous building. This is about inspiration and translation of inspiration into an acutal design. I was assigned the Jin Mao building in Shanghai [link] .

This is definately challenging for me. I have never used architecture as inspiration, so this was my first attempt. I wanted to think a little out of the box and also expand my design ability. I attempted to create a very sophistocated evening gown, and here is the result.

Here, I've focused on the back(a change from the bust!) with detailing resembling the top of the building; this could be done in an arrangement of glass crystal, with a printed chiffon train. The gown is made up of a silk charmuse fabric, and I wanted to keep it very geometrical, using straight, clean lines. She carries a fur stole.
